Overtime, your brake pad will wear out due to constant usage. Your brake pad is the part between the brake shoe and the brake drum. In other words, in between the part where you apply pressure and the part that stops or slows your wheels. When they start to wear down, your brakes may be compromised, so it is really important for you to keep an eye out for signs that you need to get your brakes replaced. Brake pads wear down over time and whenever your brake makes a screeching sound, it could be an indicator that your brake pads need to be checked or replaced. This means it is time to schedule an auto repair appointment with Wrench. Our mobile mechanics are here to help in the most convenient way possible. Do not ignore the sounds from the brake pad because it is the system that lets you stop or slow down your car once it is moving. If that system isn't working properly, you could get into an accident. Why Do Brake Pads Wear Out Unevenly?

Your brakes wear out unevenly when there is uneven pressure applied to them. There are four types of brake wear; even wear, inner wear, outer wear, and tapered wear. Each one has a different cause, but no matter what type of wear you think your brake has, you should have Wrench's mobile mechanics come and take a look!

Brake Pad Wear Types

Even Wear

Even wear of your cars brake pads is due to equal pressure on the brakes. This means the car was operated properly and they just got worn down because of time and use. Schedule an appointment with Wrench and we will replace your brake pads so you can get back on the road before you know it.

Inner Wear

For this type of brake pad wear, it will be more worn out on the inner board pad than the outer board pad. When the caliper piston doesn't return to the rest position, usually due to damage, it can cause inner wear of the vehicle's brake pads.

Outer Wear

If your brakes have outer wear, the outer board pad will be more worn out than the inner board pad. This wear happens when the outer pad rides the motor after the caliper has been released.

Tapered Wear

If you see a worn out area in a horizontal wedge pattern on your brake pads, then you are experiencing tapered wear.

Even if your brakes are worn out unevenly, you still need to replace them as soon as you notice any issues. Our mobile mechanics are available almost anywhere and can replace your vehicle's brakes whenever you are in need of new one!
