MOBILE LEAKING FLUID SERVICES AT YOUR HOME OR OFFICE

Engine oil and brake fluid may vary in color from light amber to dark brown depending on how well you maintain your car. If there is an oil leak, it will be under the engine, but it's not always immediately obvious where your engine is located. On a front-wheel-drive car, your engine could be located at the front left or front right, depending on where the transmission sits, and the engine could be in the rear of the car if you're driving a Porsche or a VW. Once you figure out the oil is dripping from the engine, all you have to do is pinpoint the leak. You might want a mechanic to take a look at it if you can't find exactly where it is leaking from. Oil leaks can come from some pretty obscure sources, like a crankshaft seal under the timing cover, or they can come from something easy to spot like a valve cover gasket. We provide a wide range of services and they can be performed at any convenient location. So give us a call so we can get you on the road so you'll be able to head over to the place rather than wasting a day at the car shop.

WHAT IS A LEAKING FLUID SERVICE?

If you see a puddle under your car on your garage floor, driveway or parking spot, this is very likely a sign of a leak. A good way to determine the amount and location of the fluid leakage is to place a large piece of cardboard under your car when you park it overnight. Check the cardboard the next morning to see how much has leaked out, what color it is, and where it is coming from. This is useful information to have and share with Wrench mechanic in order to identify which fluid is leaking, as well as where it's coming from.

HOW ARE LEAKING FLUIDS FIXED?

Try to determine where the leak is coming from. Most of the fluids in a vehicle have a defining color, smell or viscosity to them. Identifying the fluid can help narrow down and eventually pinpoint where the leak is coming from. Put white paper or cardboard under the car where you think the leak is coming from so you can verify the fluid. A few drops of fluid on your driveway isn't reason to panic, especially on an older car. Seepage and minor leaks are par for the course on vehicles with several years and thousands of miles on the clock. That said, any leaks should be a wake-up call to keep an eye on things before it becomes a gusher, and to regularly check fluid levels to make sure you aren't running low anywhere.

RECOMMENDATIONS

If you think your vehicle may have fluids leaking, Wrench mobile mechanics recommend getting it checked so you know exactly what is wrong and whether it is safe to drive in that condition.
