  7. Remove the lock mechanism from the lift gate.
  8. Install a new lock mechanism in the lift gate.
  9. Reconnect the lock mechanism to the wiring harness.
  10. Reinstall the lift gate interior trim panel.
  11. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  12. To verify this repair attempt to lock and unlock the vehicle using a remote or lock button.
